Job Description

Pawtucket Red Sox 2017 Ticket Operations Internship Description

Summary: Consistently selling tickets, packages and outings on behalf of the team to the surrounding community in northern RI and southeast MA as well as assisting in game day ticket operations.

Reports to: Matt Harper, Director of Ticket Sales

Job Functions and Duties

March-April

  • Work front window to answer the phone, take ticket orders, print tickets and process payments
  • Assist customers with questions or concerns regarding upcoming events, ticket packages and game day related items
  • Make outbound calls as necessary to ticket prospects
  • Train with Matt Harper, Director of Ticket Sales, on the sales process
  • Assist in any research projects and/or tasks, such as surveys, CRM, presentations

April-September

(Off-Day)

  • Report to Matt for daily assignments/taks
  • Make outbound calls as necessary to ticket prospects
  • Assist in ticket orders, printing and delivering for upcoming home stands

(Game Day)

  • Work ticket windows to take ticket orders, print tickets and process payments
  • Float for money room requests and/or VIP areas in the ballpark
  • Answer any fan requests or questions post-game
  • Assist in on-field promotions, giveaways, exit samples and other duties assigned

Miscellaneous:

  • all interns are committed to the entire season as first priority, including weekends, day/night shifts and holiday games/weekends
  • all interns must report to the ballpark for their shifts 15 minutes prior
  • requests for vacation must be made 7 days in advance, 14 days for the 4th of July weekend
  • any weekend the team is away is a pending work day, depending on the demand of the schedule and the office
  • all internships are paid - $10/hour

2017 Pawtucket Red Sox Internship Program

The Pawtucket Red Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are currently in search of interns to begin work for the 2017 season.  This internship is designed to offer students studying any discipline the opportunity to garner significant marketing/sales, event management, customer service and public relations experience with a premier, Triple-A minor league baseball team.

For over 40 years, the Pawtucket Red Sox have established themselves at the upper echelon of national professional sports franchises. During difficult economic times the Pawtucket Red Sox were able to draw over 500,000 fans to McCoy Stadium and were one of the highest attended minor league baseball franchises in the country.  Qualified candidates, who receive the opportunity to intern with the ball club, are expected to accentuate and uphold the tremendous reputation upon which the Pawtucket Red Sox has been built.

Application procedure & requirements for interested candidates:

  • Candidates must be enrolled as a student at a college or university.
  • Candidates can but do not need to be receiving credits from the college or university while conducting the internship.
  • Candidates interested in the internship opportunities must be available for 25-40+ hours per week and will be required to work days, nights and weekends. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate the ability to make the internship their top priority for the summer months.    
  • Candidates are required to have their own means of transportation to and from the stadium.
  • Candidates are required have their own housing in the area.
  • Compensation will be an hourly wage (+ commission, if applicable)
